Here’s what I heard from Ben Eckart, one of the collectors who has posted a photo of an En-Ar-Co bucket on his website:
The bucket you show was sold by the National Refining
Company between about 1934 and 1950. Their home office was in Cleveland, Ohio
but had distributors all over the Midwest. It would not be unusual for this
bucket to be found in that area. There were probably 100’s of thousands of the
cans manufactured and then used by people for other uses once the oil was used
up.
