This week’s mystery movie was the 1951 film “The Enforcer,” with Humphrey Bogart, Zero Mostel, Ted de Corsia, Everett Sloane, Roy Roberts, Lawrence Tolan, King Donovan, Robert Steele, Adelaide Klein, Don Beddoe, Tito Vuolo, John Kellogg and Jack Lambert.
Written by Martin Rackin.
Photographed by Robert Burks, art direction by Charles H. Clarke, edited by Fred Allen, sound by Dolph Thomas, set decoration by William Kuehl, orchestrations by Maurice de Packh. Music by David Buttolph.
Produced by Milton Sperling. Directed by Bretaigne Windust (and Raoul Walsh).

I always get a kick when the Monday image is one of these throwbacks to locales that resemble places from when I was a kid. All that ‘stuff’ in the background. It sets up a ‘Mom & Pop’ neighbor store, or five & dime where you could buy buttons, water glasses, barrettes, sunglasses and even seed packets. Looking forward to finding out who our Monday mystery woman is looking at OS.
No guess yet. Just a stroll down memory lane.

We called them candy stores. Now the signs say smoke shops, with glass pipes in the window.

Wednesday – guy #1 is Jack Lambert. Boy… guy#2 looks so familiar. Know that face but not the name.
Tuesday’s guy looks like he’s using sign language. Is his character supposed to be deaf?

For Wednesday we have Jack Lambert and Michael Tolan; For Thursday we have Bob Steele, Roy Roberts, and Zero Mostel. They are in “The Enforcer” which is a crime drama — but wouldn’t it have been a hoot if they were all in a comedy instead?

Thursday – almost didn’t recognize Zero Mostel. He looks so scared. Roy Roberts (I think) is the guy on the stairs. Maybe hat guy is Ted de Corsia??

I’m getting old. I could not remember the names of Jack Lambert and Michael Tolan. Of course the film is …uh, I forgot again. And I just looked it up! Old age is a drag.
