This week’s mystery movie has been the 1957 Twentieth Century-Fox film “A Hatful of Rain,” with Eva Marie Saint (Friday’s mystery guest), Don Murray (Thursday’s mystery guest), Anthony Franciosa (not shown), Lloyd Nolan (Wednesday’s mystery guest) and Henry Silva (Tuesday’s mystery guest). It was written by Michael Vincente Gazzo and Alfred Hayes, based on Gazzo’s play. With music by Bernard Herrmann, photographed by Joe MacDonald and directed by Fred Zinnemann.
And for Monday, we have a mystery gent who is reading – or at least holding – a newspaper.
This is Albert Dannibal in one of his two screen appearances. He also had the lead in a revival of the play “Stalag 17,” but otherwise I can’t find much about him. He bears some resemblance to Albert D’Annibale.
And for Tuesday, we have this arty shot of our mystery guest.
Henry Silva as “Mother.”
And for Wednesday, we have a mystery fellow and a mysterious iconic bridge.
Lloyd Nolan and the Brooklyn Bridge – Lloyd Bridge(s), get it?
Please congratulate Rick Scott (Tuesday’s mystery guest), Michael Ryerson (Tuesday’s mystery guest) Floyd Thursby (mystery movie and Tuesday’s mystery guest) and LC (Tuesday’s mystery guest).
Here’s our mystery fellow for Thursday.
Don Murray is not having a good day.
Please congratulate Mary Mallory (Wednesday’s mystery guest), Anne Papineau (mystery movie and Wednesday’s mystery guest), LC (mystery movie and Wednesday’s mystery guest), Jenny M. (mystery movie and Wednesday’s mystery guest), Earl Boebert (Wednesday’s mystery guest/wrong movie), Chrisbo (Wednesday’s mystery guest), Charles Kjelland (Wednesday’s mystery guest), Mike Hawks (mystery movie and Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s mystery guests), Michael Ryerson (mystery movie, mystery guests), Rick (mystery movie and Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s mystery guests), Diane Ely (Wednesday’s mystery guest), William (Wednesday’s mystery guest/wrong movie), Julie Merholz (mystery movie and mystery guests) and Lee Ann Megan and Thom (mystery movie, Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s mystery guests).
And for Friday, we have a non-mystery lady.
This is Eva Marie Saint
Please congratulate Mary Mallory (mystery movie, Tuesday/Thursday mystery guests), Beachgal (mystery movie, Tuesday-Thursday mystery guests), Benito (mystery movie and Thursday’s mystery guest), Michael Ryerson (Thursday’s mystery guest), Pat Van Hartesveldt (Thursday’s mystery guest), Mike Hawks (Thursday’s mystery guest), dlhartzog (mystery movie and Tuesday-Thursday mystery guests), Dewey Webb (mystery movie and Wednesday-Thursday mystery guests), Anne Papineau (Thursday’s mystery guest), Johnny Clay (Wednesday-Thursday mystery guests), Stevo (Thursday’s mystery guest), Pat in Michigan (mystery movie, Wednesday-Thursday mystery guests) and Bob Hansen (Thursday’s mystery guest).
Well, my first thought was The Friends of Eddie Coyle but then a little On The Waterfront seeped in. Not sure. For now, the gent will remain a mystery.

I would say the “Albert D’Annibale” mentioned by Larry bears more than a passing
resemblance to the “Albert Dannibal” credited in this film.
Here is a link to the wedding announcement for Christopher D’Annibale, son of Albert.
Note the strong likeness in the picture :

It’s worth mentioning that playwright Michael V. Gazzo later gained fame as an actor: he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor in a Supporting Role as Frank Pentangeli in The Godfather Part II, but lost to Robert de Niro.
