I thought it would be fun to do a British film for a change. This is the 1937 movie “Fire Over England,” with Sir Laurence Olivier, Flora Robson, Leslie Banks, Vivien Leigh, Raymond Massey, Tamara Desni and Morton Selten. Based on the novel by A.E.W. Mason and adapted for the screen by Clemence Dane and Sergei Nolbandov and directed by William K. Howard. Music by Richard Addinsell, photographed by James Wong Howe with costumes by Rene Hubert.
And for Monday, we have a mystery gent with a luxurious beard.
This is Morton Selten…
Monday’s gentleman is having a conversation with Tuesday’s mystery guest.
…who is chatting with Leslie Banks.
Please congratulate Barbara Klein and Anne Papineau for identifying our mystery film and mystery guest.
And for Wednesday, we have a mystery woman on horseback.
Flora Robson as Queen Elizabeth, a role she also played in the Errol Flynn version of “The Sea Hawk.”
Please congratulate Barbara Klein (Tuesday’s mystery chap), dlhartzog (mystery movie, Tuesday’s mystery chap), Anne Papineau (Tuesday’s mystery chap), Don Danard (Tuesday’s mystery chap), Rick Scott (Tuesday’s mystery chap), Dennis Gilliam (mystery movie, Tuesday’s mystery chap) and Bob Hansen (Tuesday’s mystery chap).
I couldn’t resist posting our mystery guest again in this spectacular costume.
And for Thursday, we have a rather serious hombre.
This is Raymond Massey.
Please congratulate LC (mystery movie and cast), Sarah (mystery movie), Mary Mallory (Wednesday’s mystery guest/wrong movie), Michael Ryerson (mystery movie and guests), Benito (mystery movie, Wednesday’s mystery guest), Don Danard (mystery movie, Wednesday’s mystery guest), Barbara Klein (Wednesday’s mystery woman), Jenny M (mystery movie, Wednesday’s mystery woman), dlhartzog (Wednesday’s mystery guest), Jenny M (Wednesday’s mystery guest), ValleyDave (mystery movie and mystery guests), Floyd Thursby (mystery movie, Wednesday’s mystery guest), Rick Scott (Wednesday’s mystery guest/wrong movie), Dewey Webb (Wednesday’s mystery guest), Rick (Wednesday’s mystery guest), Jenny Lerew and Mike Hawks (mystery movie, mystery guests), Chrisbo (Wednesday’s mystery guest/wrong movie), Bob Hansen (Wednesday’s mystery guest), Lee Ann, Megan and Thom (mystery movie, Tuesday’s mystery guest, Wednesday’s mystery guest) and McDee (mystery movie, Wednesday’s mystery guest).
And for Friday, we have…. Oh very funny.
Vivien Leigh in “The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone.”
And for Friday, we have…. I suppose you think you are being terribly clever.
Vivien Leigh in her last film, “Ship of Fools,” with back of the head guy Lee Marvin.
And for Friday, we have a mystery woman at the keyboard.
Vivien Leigh, pre-Scarlett O’Hara.
Please congratulate Charles Kjelland (mystery movie and Thursday’s mystery guest), Barbara Klein (Thursday’s mystery guest), Mary Mallory (mystery movie and mystery guests), Chrisbo (mystery movie and mystery guests), Dennis Gilliam (Wednesday’s and Thursday’s mystery guests), Anne Papineau (Wednesday’s and Thursday’s mystery guests), dlhartzog (Thursday’s mystery guest), Karen (mystery movie and Wednesday’s and Thursday’s mystery guests), beachgal (mystery movie and mystery guests), Don Danard (Thursday’s mystery guest), Rick (mystery movie and Thursday’s mystery guest), Dewey Webb (mystery movie), Keith Thursby (Thursday’s mystery guest), Bob Hansen (Thursday’s mystery guest) and William (mystery movie, Wednesday’s mystery guest — wrong monarch — and Thursday’s mystery guest).
Dennis Gilliam says: And on Thursday we have deadly rival monarchs: XXXX and XXX, sporting his Hapsburg Order of the Golden Fleece bling.
And this is, of course, Joan Staley and Don Knotts in “The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.”

Flora Robson, whose face could stop an Armada, is Queen Elizabeth I, so the movie is either FIRE OVER ENGLAND, or THE SEA HAWK.

In my guess yesterday, I couldnt tell the difference between queen(s) Victoria & Elizabeth even with the correct answer right in front of me….so much for my concerns of English Monarchists & Aristocrats. But today, Fri, the mystery lady at the keyboard is Scarlett O’Hara….of that, I”m quite certain.
