Seiter. “ Roberta” was based on Alice Duer Miller’s novel “Gowns by Roberta,” which was adapted for the stage by Jerome Kern and Otto Harbach with a screenplay by Jane Murfin, Sam Mintz and Allan Scott. Musical direction was by Max Steiner.
