Thanks for the clue. The film was Ladies’ Day (1943). Tuesday’s other person was Jerome Cowan. Monday’s person must be Joan Barclay. It’s weird that the same person (Cliff Clark) would play the same character in the same uniform in two different movies.

Took me a while to realize that it was Cliff Clark and not Dick Lane playing the baseball manager but when I did I finally came up with “Ladies’ Day” from 1943. Cast included Joan Barclay, Jerome Cowan, Fred Carpenter, Iris Adrian, Tom Kennedy and Patsy Kelly.

Lupe Velez and a very young Eddie Albert. As this was released in april 1943, Albert is on his way to the Pacific Theater as a member of the USNR (or as some sources have it the USCGR) as a coxswain on a landing craft at the invasion of Tarawa. He’ll be credited with saving upwards of seventy Marines when he repeatedly took his boat back into the shallow water to bring them out from under hellacious gunfire. On screen usually a good natured sidekick, in real life a stud.
