   For some reason, downtown North Hollywood comes to my clouded mind. Not far from a Bob’s Big Boy sit down joint. Not a very memorable place.

   It looks more like a parking structure than an office building in the background. It seems to have the requisite incline (or is it my aging vision).

   Then again, there’s a street with an upward incline in the background (4th St.?). If I were standing at that spot today, would the Bonaventure stand to my left? My analysis is a photo taken on South Flower Street facing north toward 4th Street.

   I have no idea where it is. Looking at the street sign on the corner it appears to me to be white. L.A. street signs are not white, so I would say it is not in L.A.. Just my two cents.

   VLA Facebook readers have confirmed that it is the San Diego Civic Theater, located at 1100 3rd Ave, San Diego, CA 92187. The “Security First National Bank” two-level parking structure in the foreground was demolished and replaced with the highrise at 1200 Civic Center Plaza. The large parking structure in the background still exists today.
