  1. John Ford, with the soul of a poet and the personal style of crust, knew a thing or two about hats. His eye could get a prop to act. Didn’t know until now that the legendary Gregg Toland shot ‘Grapes’. His images invoke those of Dorothea Lange and other Depression Era photographers. Harsh perfection.
