Parole Rejected for ‘Onion Field’ Killer

The Board of Parole Hearings has recommended against releasing Gregory Powell, who was convicted in the 1963 “Onion Field” killing of Officer Ian Campbell. Powell, who has prostate cancer, was seeking a compassionate release, reserved for inmates with serious illnesses.

    This piece of garbage should have been executed a long time ago. However, as long as Edmund G. Brown Jr. is Governor, we can never be sure there will not be some type of gubernatorial action to release this thing.

    I am glad Powell wasn’t released.
    I am against capital punishment.
