Here’s another mystery photo from Steven Bibb’s collection!
[Update: Please congratulate Don Danard for identifying our mystery hero as Buddy Roosevelt. His mystery companion isn’t identified on the back of the picture, but Don says it is Lafe McKee.]
The still is from “The Bandit Buster,” an Action Pictures production that received little coverage in The Times. IMDB identifies this as a 1926 film written by Richard Thorpe, however an Oct. 4, 1926, Times story says the scenario was by Betty Burbridge, a prolific writer of western films.
IMDB says “The Bandit Buster” premiered on Dec. 19, 1926, but it was apparently in general release in 1927, according to Google’s news archive.
Roosevelt (d. 1973) appeared in several hundred films and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild for more than 50 years. According to IMDB McKee died in 1959. The Times did not publish an obituary.
Isn’t that House Peters holding the gun?

Anybody else have the urge to write captions for photos like this? Right now I’m thinking:
“Relax. It’s just everybody rushing over here from the LA Times website.”
