And for Wednesday, we have a group of mystery outlaws. Bonus question: Which ones worked together in another, famous Western?

Please congratulate Mary Mallory (mystery movie and cast), Julie Merholz (mystery woman), Jenny M (mystery movie and cast), Patricia Ann (mystery movie and cast), Gary Martin (mystery movie and cast), Benito (mystery woman), Herb Nichols (mystery movie and cast), DON DANARD (mystery woman), Dewey Webb (movie and mystery cast), Michael Ryerson (mystery movie and cast), Bob Hansen (mystery woman) and Lee Ann and Megan (mystery movie and cast).

Gary Martin says: R.R. appeared twice with Z.S. but only once in color: XXXXX. I know they both made westerns but i don’t think of them as “western” stars …in the sense of Gabby Hayes. (I have always been in love with R.R. Thanks!)

  1. Zachary Scott, maybe in Shotgun.

  2. Mary Mallory says:

Looks like Zachary Scott in the first photo.

  3. Yeah, I think Shotgun.

  4. Gary Martin says:

    Zackery Scott.

  5. Eve says:

Is the top Behind Bars Guy Zachary Scott?

  6. juliemerholz says:

Colt 45 1950 starring Randolph Scott, Ruth Roman,Lloyd Bridges, Alan Hale.

  7. Jenny M says:

    Zachary Scott

  8. Mike Hawks says:

Zachary Scott perhaps from SOUTH OF ST. LOUIS. And from a recent mystery Alain Delon.

  9. Don Danard says:

Well, the first guy behind bars is Zachary Scott. The other guy is behind bars as well !

  10. DeweyWebb says:

looks sorta like Sean Connery. . Shalako?

  11. Since I do not see what Julie’s right guesses are, I am putting my two cents in: Zachary Scott and Robert Webber.

  12. McDee says:

    Zachary Scott?

  13. mandymarie20 says:

    Western guy is Zachary Scott.

  14. Barbara Klein says:

He kinda, sorta looks like Byron Foulger, so I’ll guess the movie is “Streets of Laredo.”

  15. Don Danard says:

Forgot to mention … it’s been one of those days…
The “other” guy is Alain Delon.

  16. Patricia Ann says:

    Looks like Zachary Scott

  17. ValleyDave says:

I swear Monday’s guy looks like Zachary Scott. But the bars may have tripped me up.

  18. Megan says:

The first gentleman makes me think of Zachary Scott.

  19. Mary Mallory says:

    Ruth Roman and Colt 45.

  20. Jenny M says:

    Ruth Roman in Colt 45

  21. Patricia Ann says:

Today the beautiful lady is Ruth Roman in Colt 45 !

  22. Gary Martin says:

Ruth Roman appeared twice with Z. Scott but only once in color: Colt .45. I know they both made westerns but i don’t think of them as “western” stars …in the sense of Gabby Hayes. (I have always been in love with Ruth Roman. Thanks!)

  23. Benito says:

    Tuesday’s gal is….Ruth Roman?

  24. herb nichols says:

    ruth roman in colt 45

  25. Don Danard says:

Ruth Roman today. Looking delightful as usual.

  26. DeweyWebb says:

Ruth Roman. Monday guy? Maybe Zachery Scott

  27. DeweyWebb says:

    Colt .45

  28. Today it’s Ruth Roman in bias-cut silhouette making this Colt .45.

  29. Chrisbo says:

    Is that Dorothy Malone?

  30. Bob Hansen says:

Ruth Roman’s the Tuesday mystery gal.

  31. Lee Ann And Megan says:

    Ruth Roman in Colt .45.

  32. Mary Mallory says:

YOu couldn’t give a much better clue than you did today. Lloyd Bridges in bandana and looks like Ward Bond on the far left with our “mystery” ZS today.

  33. Don Danard says:

Well, today, we have Lloyd Bridges, second from left of picture, beside Ian MacDonald, a great heavy. They were both in “High Noon”, but not on the same side.

  34. herb nichols says:

ian macdonald and lloyd bridges worked together in high noon

  35. Jenny M says:

Lloyd Bridges and Ian MacDonald, who also appeared in High Noon

  36. Mike Hawks says:

Yesterday Ruth Roman. Today Lloyd Bridges and Ian MacDonald in COLT .45 1950.

  37. Well, we’ve got Zachary Scott out front slightly to the right (in the fancy print shirt) and next to him to his right (our left) is Ian MacDonald and slightly behind him is a youthful Lloyd Bridges trying to flex his forearm for visual effect. Of course, Bridges and MacDonald were also in High Noon where Bridges played Gary Cooper’s overly eager deputy (and nascent competitor for Katy Jurado’s affection) and MacDonald played the central antagonist Frank Miller. Interestingly MacDonald here also plays a ‘Miller’ albeit without a given name.

  38. Patrick says:

Finally get a mystery western and I’m out of town. Just got back today from Old Tucson movie location where hundreds of westerns have been shot since it was built for the 1940 production “Arizona”. On Monday we have Zachary Scott and Tuesday features Ruth Roman. Wednesday’s outlaws include Lloyd Bridges and Ian MacDonald who appeared together in “High Noon”. The film is “Colt .45” from 1950. It was not filmed at Old Tucson; that would have been too strange.

  39. LC says:

    Colt 45 (1950) w/Ruth Roman & Randolph Scott

  40. MIKE BOTULA says:

    The actress is Ruth Roman.

  41. Barbara Klein says:

    “Colt .45”

    Monday – Zachary Scott
    Tuesday – Ruth Roman
Wednesday – Lloyd Bridges and Walter Coy, who also appeared together in “Wichita.”

  42. juliemerholz says:

Lloyd Bridges, Ian MacDonald, Zachary Scott.

  43. Pat van Hartesveldt says:

Thanks for the big fat clue! Zachary Scott and Ruth Roman in “Colt .45”.

  44. Tuesday’s Western Gal, Ruth Roman. Wednesday in that tough looking crowd, are Lloyd Bridges and Zachary Scott. The film: Colt 45″.

  45. Rick Scott says:

Late to the party. The film is Colt .45. Zachary Scott, Ruth Roman, Lloyd Bridges and Ian MacDonald (the latter duo also appeared in High Noon. Any extra credit for the the guy far left in the back? Looks like Tom London, who seemingly appeared in every western made from the Thirties to Sixties, sometimes as an extra, sometimes a speaking role in B’s.

  46. Mary Mallory says:

    Chief Thundercloud and Randolph Scott.

  47. Today we have Chief Thundercloud (birth name: Victor Daniels) playing Walking Bear (are you following this?) in one of his signature tight-lipped expressions talking to Randolph Scott playing Steve Farrell, the Colt salesman turned fugitive turned lawman. Phew.

  48. On Thursday we have the original Tonto, Victor Daniels (AKA Chief Thundercloud) and the rugged profile of the film’s star, Randolph Scott.

  49. juliemerholz says:

    Chief Thundercloud and Randolph Scott

  50. Don Danard says:

Today’s Mystery Man was generally billed as “Chief Thundercloud”. He played Tonto in Republic’s serial “The Lone Ranger”. Apparently his “real” name was Victor Daniels. And that other guy, based on the hat, has to be Randolph Scott. So that makes the movie “Colt .45”.

  51. Chrisbo says:

Thursday’s Back of Head Guy looks like Randolph Scott.

  52. Mike Hawks says:

Chief Thundercloud confers with star Randolph Scott.

  53. Barbara Klein says:

Thursday – Chief Thundercloud, with back-of-the-head guy who might be Randolph Scott.

  54. Don Danard says:

Wait a minute……….. this is “Colt .45” with Randolph Scott, so it couldn’t have been Alain Delon in the jail cell. What was I thinking??????????? I think I’ll have a nap,

  55. mtsu1984 says:

I’ve seen “Mildred Pierce” too many times not to recognize Zachary Scott. As to the two people who worked together in another western, it has to be Lloyd Bridges and the guy standing in front of him and beside Scott (can’t think of his name but sure he’s one of Ben Miller’s gang) in “High Noon.”

  56. Wally Seeley says:

Thursday is Chief Thundercloud (Victor Daniels) addressing Randolph Scott

  57. Mary Mallory says:

    Mt. Scott in person.

  58. Charles Kjelland says:

Colt 45, Zachary Scott, Randolph Scott, Ruth Roman, Lloyd Bridges, Chief Thundercloud,

  59. And finally, full face, Randolph Scott.

  60. Also, I neglected to add Walter Coy to the list of players in the ‘gang-in-the-street’ pic. He is standing to Zachary Scott’s left (our right). He went on the a featured role in The Searchers (1956) as Aaron Edwards (brother to John Wayne’s Ethan), whose family is killed by the Indian raiding party to start the film and set the narrative in motion.

  61. Mike Hawks says:

Randolph Scott says “I wonder when I can get away to play golf”.

  62. Barbara Klein says:

    Our leading man, Randolph Scott

  63. Lorenzo says:

I have been trying to remember the names of the hombres on the extreme left and right in Wednesday’s picture. Help Please.
