Don’t know the actor playing the cop, but I do believe that’s the lovely William Powell in those female duds. The movie is I believe “I Love You Again” with Myrna Loy. I haven’t seen it for awhile. Powell and Loy were the best screen husband and wife team the movies ever created.

I could be wrong, but I think the policeman is Edward Hearn, who, if IMDb is to be believed, worked dozens of bit parts in movies between 1915 and 1955. I have to confess: I kinda cheated on this one … Love Crazy was just on TCM a few weeks ago and William Powell in drag is an image that never leaves your head …
